Apocalyptour to hit House of Blues Los Angeles

Team Starkid fans will unite to watch the popular YouTube comedy troupe perform songs from their online productions, including “A Very Potter Musical,” “Me and My Dick” and new songs at the House of Blues Sunset Strip from May 22 to May 24.

Originally hailing from the University of Michigan, and now based in Chicago, Team StarKid is a true Cinderella story for the modern age. To date, StarKid has garnered more than 124 million views and 240,000 subscribers on YouTube, 188,000 Facebook fans, and more than 106,000 Twitter followers worldwide. They have also captured the attention of national media such as Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, Billboard, “Access Hollywood,” “Entertainment Tonight,” NPR, VH1 and MTV. Based in Chicago, StarKid Productions remains committed to pioneering the internet as a new outlet for theatre distribution.

The musical theatre production company was founded by a group of former students from the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance. Included in this group is Darren Criss, also known for his role as Blaine Anderson on “Glee.” Criss is not a regular in Team Starkid anymore, though he still does make appearances. For the May 23 show Criss will be playing an acoustic set only, while on the following dates he will join StarKid for the entire performance. Prior to his role “Glee,” Criss was best-known to StarKid fans as “Harry Potter” in both “A Very Potter Musical” and “A Very Potter Sequel,” for which he contributed to the musical scores.

Team Starkid began the Apocalyptour on May 9 in Chicago. The tour will be at the House of Blues Sunset Strip from May 22 to May 24. Criss will make one of only two appearances on this tour on the May 24 date. The other will be in New York on June 10.

Tickets are available on LiveNation. There are two VIP packages available, including Golden Idol tickets for $85, which include a Starkid lanyard, a tour poster and an autograph session with the performers; and Crystal Skull tickets for $120, which include a Starkid lanyard, tour poster, concert program, a meet and greet with performers, and a photo session with performers. However, the VIP packages have already sold out for most dates. There are also general admission tickets available for $85.
