While its still very early to get much information on Coachella 2012, some very exciting news was released earlier today. The next Coachella Festival will take place on April 13th-15th AND on April 20th-22nd. You heard right. What will happens is all bands, art, setup, everything will be identical however the second weekend will allow for more people to enjoy the festival and for hopefully less people to get scammed from buying tickets at third party websites/scalpers.

From the press release. “COACHELLA 2012 will be two separate events, held over two consecutive weekends (April 13-15 and April 20-22) at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA.  Festival organizers will attempt to produce two identical festival weekends--same lineup, same art, same place, different people.“

Weekend passes go on sale THIS FRIDAY, June 3rd at 10AM until June 10th at 10PM. This will be the only chance for concert goers to purchase tickets with a payment plan. Passes purchased through the payment plan will require a 10% down payment and 8 equal monthly payments. Of course you can still purchase tickets in full at the time of purchase.

Coachella founders, Goldenvoice, have explained this in a bit more detail on www.coachella.com , “We know many of you were unable to attend this year's festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated. We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm.”

Lineup is still a long way away.....
